- Filled and signed Form C
- Filled and signed Certificate of Training.
- WACP Membership Revision Course Certificate.
- WACP Medical Ethics Course Certificate.
- Physician in Training letter.
- WACP Primary result or WACP letter of exemption / primary result from certifying institute. (For those without WACP primary)
- Filled and signed Logbook. Send in Pdf format to this email logbook@wacpcoam.org
- Completely signed Autopsybook. (Laboratory Medicine) Send Autopsy book in MS Word format to this email autopsy@wacpcoam.org
- Completely signed PMR book (Family Medicine). Send PMR book in MS Word format to this email pmr@wacpcoam.org
- STEPS FOR APPLICATION
- Visit the College Website at www.wacpcoam.org.
- Proceed to the download section and download the Membership Form C, Certificate of Training, fill and sign with the appropriate authorities.
- Send your signed PMR book or autopsy book to the emails provided and download evidence of sending. (Kindly note that candidates whose signed books are not received by the end of the application date will be disqualified.)
- Get all your documents listed (1-9 above) ready and save them in a folder.
- Proceed with your application and follow every instruction step by step until the final SUBMIT BUTTON.
Membership Examinations:
The Membership screening examination will hold on Wednesday, August 19th, 2026. Applicants are advised to indicate their choice of examination centres in the process of making their ONLINE registration. The examination will be conducted using the Computer Based Test Mode in the following examination centres:-
- Abuja – Nigeria
- Enugu – Nigeria
- Ibadan – Nigeria
- Accra – Ghana
- Banjul – The Gambia
- Monrovia – Liberia
- Freetown – Sierra Leone
NOTE:
- The details of the centres will be communicated directly to candidates before the examination.
- Only those who pass the CBT Screening will proceed to write the clinical and practical aspects at University College Hospital (UCH), Ibadan, National Hospital Abuja (NHA) and Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital (KBTH), Accra from Tuesday September 29th to Monday October 5th, 2026.
- Enugu, Banjul, Monrovia, and Freetown Centres are for CBT Examinations only. All Enugu, Banjul, Monrovia, and Freetown CBT candidates should indicate their preferred clinical examination centre at the time of registration. (Abuja, Ibadan, or Accra)
* Please note that the College reserves the right to change your clinical examination centre for logistic reasons.
- Membership candidates who banked the CBT Exams previously are expected to upload their statements of result along with other application documents as evidence.
EXAMINATION FEE
1. Membership fee—$425 or ₦552,500.00 or GHC 5,525.
An additional practical examination fee of $85/₦110,500/GHC1,105 is payable by Membership and Fellowship candidates in Laboratory Medicine and Membership candidates in Community Health. THIS IS PAYABLE VIA THE ONLINE REGISTRATION, ALONG WITH THE APPLICATION FORM. OTHERWISE, THE APPLICATION STANDS DISQUALIFIED.

| APPLICANTS NOT RESIDING IN NIGERIA: | Ghana: Should pay (in the name of West African College of Physicians) into GCB Bank (Korle-Bu Branch) Account No. 1131130009095. The PAY-IN-SLIP should be submitted to the WACP Office Accra for a UNIQUE PAYMENT CODE which will be needed to complete the ONLINE REGISTRATION.Other Countries: Should start the application process online and pay in USD. |
APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS:
- Attendance of Mandatory Courses in Medical Ethics and Revision/Update courses of the College are prerequisites for sitting Membership Examinations. Anticipated attendance/proof of payments for certificates are not accepted.
- Candidates for the Membership Examinations will be expected to upload scanned copies of their signed and completed Logbooks in PDF format to logbook@wacpcoam.org. The original should be brought to the examination hall.Laboratory Medicine Candidates should send their autopsy book in MS Word format to autopsy@wacpcoam.org. Family Medicine candidates should send their PMR book in MS Word format to pmr@wacpcoam.org. Your email SUBJECT and attached documents should be stated and saved as: [Faculty SURNAME other name. E.g. Paediatrics – Dr. JOHN Bello].
- Submitting altered, falsified, or incomplete documents to the West African College of Physicians may be a sufficient cause for the College to apply punitive sanctions. WACP will report findings of irregular behavior to the Medical & Dental Council of the Country where the candidate practices, other Postgraduate Medical Colleges in the West African Region and to any other organization or individual who, in the judgement of WACP, has a legitimate interest in such information.
- The code of conduct including the dress code for the candidates shall be strictly enforced. All candidates must be formally dressed.
- The College has a zero-tolerance policy for examination malpractice and misconduct.
- Change of Examination Centre after submission of application form shall not be entertained.
- The College reserves the right to change your Exam Centre depending on logistics.
- Physically challenged applicants are advised to apply to the Secretary-General via secgen@wacpcoam.org, stating their disability for logistic purposes to be considered along with the uploaded application form
- Deferment of examination will not be considered six weeks or less to the advertised examination date
- No refund will be offered for NON-ATTENDANCE of examination.
- Do not apply if your certificate of training is not up to the specified months as stated in your faculty curriculum.
- Change of name, marriage certificate documents, etc. should be uploaded in the OTHERS SECTION when applying.
- All applications and payments must be online via the college website at www.wacpcoam.org.
NOTE: For Membership examinations in all faculties of the West African College of Physicians, only candidates who have performed satisfactorily in the CBT Exams would be allowed to proceed with the rest of the examinations. Results will be hosted on the website.
NB: An applicant stands disqualified once he/she fails to meet college requirements after vetting application forms.
