KINDLY NOTE THE FOLLOWING INSTRUCTIONS CLEARLY BEFORE APPLYING FOR THE FELLOWSHIP EXAMINATION:

  • REQUIRED DOCUMENTS FOR FELLOWSHIP REGISTRATION:
  1. Filled and signed Form C
  2. A filled and signed Certificate of Training.
  3. WACP Membership Certificate.
  4. WACP Research Methodology Certificate.
  5. Fellowship in Training letter/ Sub-specialty in training letter.
  6. WACP Revision Course Certificate.
  7. WACP Update Certificate.
  8. Filled and signed Logbook.
  9. Copy of approved Proposal. (MS Word format)
  10. Copy of Dissertation and/or Casebook. (MS Word format)
  • STEPS FOR APPLICATION
  1. Visit the College Website at www.wacpcoam.org.
  2. Proceed to the download section and download the Fellowship Form C, Certificate of Training, fill and sign with appropriate authorities.
  3. Send your signed dissertation or Casebook to the email and download evidence of sending. (Kindly note that candidates whose signed books are not received by end of application date will be disqualified)
  4. Get all your documents listed (1-10 above) ready and save them in a folder.
  5. Proceed with your application and follow every instruction step by step until the final SUBMIT BUTTON.

Fellowship Examinations:

The Fellowship examination will hold from Tuesday, September 29th, – Saturday, October 3rd, 2026. Applicants are advised to indicate their choice of examination centres in the process of the ONLINE registration. The examinations will be held in the following centres:

  1. University College Hospital (UCH), Ibadan, Nigeria.
  2. National Hospital Abuja (NHA), Nigeria.
  3. Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital (KBTH, Accra), Ghana

NOTE:

1. Venue for Fellowship in Internal Medicine Subspecialties may vary based on logistics.

2. Fellowship candidates are expected to upload Membership certificates (Not statements of result) when applying for the examination.

Send a signed E-Copy (Ms-Word) of the Dissertation, Approved Proposal and Casebook stating faculty and name to dissertations@wacpcoam.org,  scanned Membership logbook as a PDF to logbook@wacpcoam.org and autopsy book in MS Word format to autopsy@wacpcoam.org Your email SUBJECT and attached documents should be stated and saved as: [Faculty SURNAME other name. E.g. Paediatrics – Dr. JOHN Bello].

EXAMINATION FEES

1. Fellowship Examination fee – $625 or  ₦812,500  or  GHC 8,125   

2. Fellowship Case Book/Dissertation fee – $125 or ₦162,500.00 or GHC 1,625

Additional practical examination fee of ₦110,500/$85/ GHC 1,105 is payable by Fellowship candidates in Laboratory Medicine, and Community Health. THIS IS PAYABLE VIA THE ONLINE REGISTRATION PLATFORM, ALONG WITH THE APPLICATION FORM. OTHERWISE, THE APPLICATION STANDS DISQUALIFIED.

APPLICANTS NOT RESIDING IN NIGERIA:  Ghana: Should pay (in the name of West African College of Physicians) into GCB Bank (Korle-Bu Branch) Account No. 1131130009095. The PAY-IN-SLIP should be submitted to the WACP Office Accra for a UNIQUE PAYMENT CODE which will be needed to complete the ONLINE REGISTRATION.Other Countries: Should start the application process online and pay in USD.

APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS:

  1. Candidates for the Fellowship Examination will be expected to upload scanned copies of their signed and completed Logbooks to logbook@wacpcoam.org. The original should be brought to the examination hall.
  2. Submitting altered, falsified, or incomplete documents to the West African College of Physicians may be a sufficient cause for the College to apply punitive sanctions. WACP will report findings of irregular behaviour to the Medical & Dental Council of the Country where the candidate practices, other Postgraduate Medical Colleges in the West African Region and to any other organization or individual who, in the judgement of WACP, has a legitimate interest in such information.
  3. The code of conduct including the dress code for the candidates shall be strictly enforced. All candidates must be formally dressed.
  4. The College has a zero-tolerance policy for examination malpractice and misconduct.
  5. Change of Examination Centre after submission of application form shall not be entertained.
  6. College reserves the right to change your Exam Centre depending on logistics.
  7. Physically challenged applicants are advised to apply to the Secretary-General via secgen@wacpcoam.org, stating their disability for logistic purposes to be considered along with the uploaded application form
  8. Deferment of examination will not be considered six weeks or less to the advertised examination date
  9. No refund will be offered for NON-ATTENDANCE of the examination.
  10. Do not apply if your certificate of training is not up to the specified months as stated in your faculty curriculum.
  11. All changes of name, marriage certificate documents, etc., should be uploaded in the OTHERS SECTION.
  12. All applications and payments must be online.

NB: AN APPLICANT STANDS DISQUALIFIED ONCE HE/SHE FAILS TO MEET COLLEGE REQUIREMENTS AFTER VETTING OF APPLICATION FORMS.
